On February 4, we had another successful auction at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Amarillo. The auction is our biggest fundraiser and takes months of planning by Betty to make it a success. She recruits us, the students, to help starting in December to go out to businesses around Canyon and Amarillo to ask for donations for our silent auction. The many hours of blitzing paid off with over 300 live and silent auction items. With over 30 students helping out that night, we all had duties throughout the night such as helping with drinks and food, the chocolate fountain, selling raffle tickets, welcoming people as they came in the door, picking up peoples silent auction items, and many more duties that kept us busy, but we still had time for fun. By the end of the night, we had all hit the dance floor for some fun. This night would not be a success without all the support we receive and all the students that come to help!
