Since last Wednesday, we have been going, going, going to get tons of people in the building... and it's worked! Wednesday we started off by helping new students move into their dorms and then having a cookout for all of the freshmen with the other ministries on campus. We cooked over 500 burgers, and before we knew it, they were all gone! We also welcomed over 100 students to our building that night for our annual Welcome Back Bash. We spent the night getting to know new faces, dancing, playing games, and enjoying delicious coke floats. Thursday was yet another busy day for us as well. We were asked by WT to cook for Buff Branding, the freshmen orientation. We cooked over 1,000 burgers and hot dogs for the freshmen, and we also joined in on the new event "Join the Herd" that allows freshmen to connect with organizations on campus. At the event we received contact info from over 50 students we had never connected with before. It payed off, because a couple of days later at our Opening Mass, we had a packed house!!! We had to open the wall and take 90% of the dining room tables down to make room for all of our students. It was, hands down, one of the biggest crowds this building has ever seen. Needless to say, all of us here are pretty excited for what is to come. This year has great potential, and we all have a great feeling that some fantastic things are about to happen here for our students! If you are a young adult that is still looking for that "home away from home" place, then please feel free to join us. We are always ready and excited to meet new faces and welcome you into our community!
